Course Aim: To Provide potential operators of specified MEWP’s the information, knowledge and skills required to enable them to Safely operate a Mobile Elevated Work Platform and to insure the safety of themselves and any other person working within or around the machine

Course objectives

·      To improve the equipment knowledge and safety awareness of attendees,

·      To ensure that attendees know how to site and operate an MEWP safely

·      To understand operators  legal responsibilities in regard to operating an MEWP

Course Content

·       Risks associated with MEWP operations, the causes of accidents.

·       Legislation – Operators Guidelines , Code of Practice

·       An introduction to machine and Pre- operation inspections

·       Load indicators and Limit switches 

·       MEWP safe operations – Machine selection/ siting / Ground inspections

·       Manoeuvering in Confined areas

·       MEWP emergency procedures

·       Battery care , Hydraulic system and use of controls

·       Practical Basic operating skills test / Theory written exam

  Number of attendees  : Maximum 4 persons per course  on two machines Maximum 6 persons per course  on one machine type

Machine Types : Scissor lifts , Telescopic / Articulating booms , Van / trailer mounted
